Epson has refreshed its Australian WorkForce Pro cartridge-printer range with four new A4 multifunction models: the WorkForce Pro WF-3920, WF-3925, WF-4930 and WF-4935.
The new machines now have official Epson Australia product pages, Australian product codes and full local specifications. They follow the established WF-3820/WF-3825 and WF-4830/WF-4835 families, but this is not simply a model-number change. The new generation introduces 5GHz Wi-Fi support and new Epson 815/815XL ink cartridges, while the smaller WF-3920/3925 pair also drops the fax function found on the previous WF-3820/3825.

What Do the “0” and “5” Versions Mean?
Within each new family, Epson Australia publishes essentially the same core specifications for the WF-3920 and WF-3925, and likewise for the WF-4930 and WF-4935. The important differences visible on the official pages are the model suffix, product code and sales channel. The “5” versions currently show an Epson online price, while the “0” versions direct customers to retailers.
Buyers should therefore compare the actual selling price and bundle rather than assume that a WF-3925 or WF-4935 is faster or more capable solely because its model number ends in 5.
WF-3920 and WF-3925: Compact Small-Office Models
The WF-3920 and WF-3925 print at up to 21 ISO ppm in black and 11 ISO ppm in colour. Each has a 250-sheet paper tray, automatic two-sided printing, a 35-sheet ADF, a 2.4-inch colour touchscreen, Ethernet, Wi-Fi Direct and dual-band 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi.
They are designed for print, scan and copy duties. Unlike the previous WF-3820 and WF-3825, Epson Australia’s specifications show dashes for all fax functions. Businesses that still require fax should not treat the WF-3920/3925 as a feature-for-feature replacement without checking this point.
WF-4930 and WF-4935: Better for Busier Offices
The larger WF-4930 and WF-4935 increase print speed to 25 ISO ppm in black and 12 ISO ppm in colour. They offer two 250-sheet paper trays for a total 500-sheet input capacity, a 50-sheet ADF, automatic two-sided scanning and copying, a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen and colour/mono fax.
These models are the stronger choice for teams that handle longer print jobs, scan double-sided documents regularly, want two paper types loaded at once or still rely on fax.
New Epson 815 and 815XL Ink Cartridges
All four new printers use the new Epson 815 and 815XL cartridge family. Epson rates the standard cartridges at approximately 450 pages for black and 450 pages for composite colour. The 815XL cartridges are rated at approximately 1,200 pages for black and 1,200 pages for composite colour.
Customers can choose the Genuine Epson 815 Standard Capacity four-colour pack or the Genuine Epson 815XL Black plus 815 Cyan, Magenta and Yellow Value Pack, depending on expected print volume.
The new range offers a modest yield increase over the previous 812 series. Epson rated 812 standard cartridges at about 350 black pages and 300 composite colour pages, and 812XL at about 1,100 pages for both black and composite colour.
Is This a Major Performance Upgrade?
Not in raw print speed. The WF-3920/3925 retain the same headline 21/11 ISO ppm speeds as the WF-3820/3825, while the WF-4930/4935 retain the same 25/12 ISO ppm figures as the WF-4830/4835. Paper capacity and ADF positioning also remain familiar.
The most practical improvements are dual-band Wi-Fi, current software support and the slightly higher-yield 815 ink system. Epson also lists a higher maximum monthly duty cycle for the smaller WF-3920/3925 family—33,000 pages, compared with 26,000 pages on the WF-3825 page—although both new families have a recommended monthly volume of up to 1,600 pages.
Our Early Verdict
Epson’s new line-up keeps the familiar two-tier structure: the WF-3920/3925 for a home office or light small-business workload, and the WF-4930/4935 for higher paper volume and more demanding document workflows.
The launch pricing shown by Epson Australia is attractive, especially the $30 step from the WF-3925 to the WF-4935. At those listed prices, the WF-4935’s faster engine, 500-sheet capacity, duplex ADF, larger screen and fax capability make it the more complete office machine. However, actual retailer prices and promotions will ultimately determine the best value.
