FAQs:
"Why would I get a TomTom GPS instead of using my phone map?"
The beauty of a TomTom Sat Nav in this day and age is that the map is pre-downloaded, meaning that in the outback or where-ever there are signal dead spots, the Sat Nav will continue to work, reducing the number of awkward times you end up waiting for your signal to return.
"What if there are new roads that have been constructed?"
With the 1-year subscription, the map does 4 yearly updates, which will account for all the changes in roads as each update comes. When these updates come you can update your Sat Nav accordingly.
Warning:
Older models may not allow maps to be downloaded. To check, head to the TomTom website (Map Update Service | TomTom) and use their compatibility checker to see if your device is compatible.
